James M. Inman is a civil litigator with varied trial experience before the U.S. District Courts of Kentucky and Kentucky’s circuit courts. He represents clients across Kentucky, including before trial courts in eastern, central, northern, and western Kentucky. He regularly appears at mediations on behalf of his clients and has first-chair trial experience. James has argued before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and regularly handles appeals before the Kentucky Supreme Court and Kentucky Court of Appeals.

James has a decade of litigation and trial experience in a number of areas, including premises liability, bad faith, insurance defense, wrongful death, auto accidents, property disputes, products liability, federal employment law, professional liability, medical malpractice, aviation, and construction defects. He has obtained favorable results in both state and federal courts, at trial and on appeal. He has won dismissals on behalf of his clients and obtained defense verdicts at trial. James has represented individuals and organizations, including small businesses, police and fire pensioners, insurers, healthcare entities, and fraternal organizations.

Additionally, James practices federal criminal law and receives appointments from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to represent clients under the Criminal Justice Act.

In 2010, James joined the principals behind Green Chesnut & Hughes, PLLC in forming the new firm. Prior to that, he practiced with a regional insurance defense firm in Lexington, Kentucky. James clerked for the Hon. Joseph M. Hood, U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Kentucky before entering private practice. James graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2008. While in law school, James served as an Articles Editor for the Kentucky Law Journal.

As an Army brat and Army veteran, James has lived all over the country and in such far-flung places as Korea, Germany, and Hawaii. He was part of the initial invasion force into Iraq in 2003 and left the Army as a Captain.
